19th Century English Oak Double Chair-Back Settee
A Late 19th Century English Oak Double Chair-Back Settee.
Of unusual double chair-back form, the settee/bench has two gently curved slatted backs beneath shaped top rails, above a pair of dished seats. The oak has a particularly attractive warm colour and well developed patination. The shaped, out-swept arms terminate in broad elbow rests, while the front is raised on turned legs with toupie feet.
An unusual and beautifully proportioned model with considerable character.
