19th Century French Walnut Drapers Table
A Late 19th Century French Walnut ‘Drapière’ Work Table.
The table top is constructed with a distinctive mitred frame around the perimeter, encasing a large, central two-plank wood panel. There are two drawers in the frieze, with charming turned and dished handles, and a third drawer opened only by using a key. The table legs have interesting turned decoration, contrasting with the plainer form of the table top and the stretchers. The table has a fine colour and patination throughout.
