19th Century English Regency Rosewood Specimen Marble Table
A 19th Century English Regency Rosewood and Faux Rosewood Table with Specimen Marble Top.
This interesting table has a platform base with concave sides and a plain central column. Tables by Gillows and William Trotter of this period use a similar form. The top has a specimen marble inset, laid in a geometric pattern. The colours of the marbles used have all been carefully chosen. The table stands on four sabre legs with gilt brass castor caps with hairy paw detailing. The wood used is a combination of rosewood and simulated rosewood.
