A 19th Century English Regency Sofa with Original Paint and Gilt Decoration.
A good scale, handsome sofa retaining its original painted and gilt decoration. Having elegant proportions, with a curved upholstered arms, the frame is decorated with finely painted gilt ornament, including floral and foliate details to the back rail, the frieze, arm supports and legs. Raised on slender tapering legs with brass castors.
The sofa retains its original painted finish, which has acquired a beautiful aged patina, adding to its character. It’s been newly upholstered.
