Pair of 19th Century George III English Mahogany Hall Chairs

A Wonderful, Good Size Pair of 19th Century George III English Mahogany Hall Chairs in the Manner of Ince and Mayhew.
These fine chairs have oval backs with incised fluting. The shaped seats with dished centres and the chairs supported on tapering legs with h-form stretchers. The mahogany of extremely fine grain, colour and patina throughout.
With their oval backs featuring deeply carved fluting, these fine chairs relate to a series of other chairs of this model with established provenance. A set of four chairs of exactly this design, painted with a central moor's head crest, were sold at Bonhams on the 15th of March 2005. These chairs had been made for the Eyre family of Hassop Hall in Derbyshire.
