18th Century French Mahogany Commode
18th Century French Mahogany Commode with Inset Marble and Brass Gallery.
The top has a fretted gallery above a slab of inset white marble. The outset column pilasters to the sides lead down to toupie feet with various ormolu mounts throughout. The figured mahogany is of plum pudding type with attractive figuring. The panelled sides have additional ormolu mounts and the drawers have drop bar handles and ribbon tie escutcheon plates.
An excellent quality example.
