An 18th Century Italian Walnut Coffer.
A large, ornate Italian coffer with high relief carved details applied in the form of diamonds and dashes to the front. The sides are panelled. It retains the original wrought iron carrying handles. It has a fabulous colour and patination.
On the back is a late 19th or early 20th century shipping label which records that the piece was owned by a Giovanni Casaroli in Ferrara, who shipped the piece via a Giulio M..., in Via Loggia, Trieste.
