A Fine 19th Century Early Victorian Pollard Oak Pedestal Partners Desk.
This desk is made from beautifully figured pollard oak, one of the most sought-after timbers from this period. Nicely proportioned, it stands on two pedestals which have four drawers to the front and cupboards with nicely panelled doors to the back. In the centre of the frieze is a long central drawer. It has an old leather top, which has aged beautifully and complements the mellow colour of the oak, with finely tooled gilt detailing to the edge.
Partners desks produced during this period were designed for a lifetime of service. This fine piece is in exceptional condition and is of lovely quality.
