17th Century English Burr Elm Chest of Drawers
A 17th Century English Burr Elm Chest of Drawers.
With its overhanging moulded top, this fine chest of drawers consists of three graduated drawers with crossbanded drawer fronts possibly cocus wood, incorporating panels of burr elm. The drawers all with escutcheon plates and drop handles. The top of the piece is formed of three planks of oak timber and the panelled sides have central panels made from a single piece of timber. The chest stands on flattened bun feet.
A beautiful well designed chest with excellent colour and patination.
