18th Century French Cherrywood Commode
An 19th Century French Louis XVI Period Cherrywood Commode.
The top has an overhanging grey and white streaked marble top which contrasts beautifully with the figured cherry surface below. There three drawers, a smaller drawer above two larger ones, with a brass moulding separating them. The plate brass handles are original and there are ormolu collars to the tapering square sectioned legs. The sides of the commode are bookmatched and the timber used throughout is of excellent colour and figure.
