18th Century French Walnut Commode
An 18th Century French Walnut Commode of Excellent Colour and Patination.
This grand commode is of rectangular form with tapering square sectioned toupie-type feet. It has some raised mouldings running from under the top drawer around the sides, echoing a similar detail running around the entire apron at the bottom of the commode. It has contrasting dark and light inlaid parquetry detailing, consisting of chequer board sections and intersecting lines which run around the drawer and escutcheon panels. There are also strung panels running down the pilasters.
