Pair of Early 19th Century Italian Burr Walnut Commodes.
Of rectangular form with two deep drawers and a shallower drawer disguised in the frieze panel. The commodes are veneered throughout in high quality walnut, the tops using bookmatched timber and darker burl being used for the frieze and lower apron to contrast with the golden coloured pieces used for the larger drawer fronts. The commodes stand on tapering legs. There are ormolu leaf mounts used on the frieze and apron and the commodes retain their original keys. Each commode has a fine colour and patination.
