19th Century English Regency Mahogany Library Table
A 19th Century English Regency Mahogany Library Table.
The top has an inset leather with three functioning drawers in the frieze below all oak lined and with their original drawer pulls, and three dummy drawers to the reverse. The turned and reeded legs are of a form associated with Gillows and certainly the construction of this piece and the high quality timbers support an attribution to that firm. The fluted moulding to the table top is a sign of quality and the long toupie feet are very much in the manner of those seen on documented Gillows pieces as well. The gilt tooling on the leather top is particularly nice as are the mahogany veneers used throughout.
H 76cm x W 137cm x D 68cm
H 30” x W 54” x D 26¾”
