An Unusual 19th Century French Faux Bamboo Partners Desk.
This heavy quality desk is constructed in pine. It is beautifully carved in imitation of bamboo, giving the desk a very distinctive look. The faux bamboo moulding runs around the drawer fronts, the apron, pilasters and panelled sides. Both sides of the desk are identical with a three drawer configuration above a pair of cupboards, one cupboard fitted with simple shelves, the other smaller shelves and a series of large pigeon holes. It has a tooled leather insert in the top and to the pull out slides at each end.
A decorative piece of furniture of excellent quality.
