Pair of 19th Century English Mahogany Benches

A Pair of Fine 19th Century English Mahogany Hall Benches or Window Seats.
These benches are reconstructed in our opinion from a much larger bench to make a pair which were possibly needed for an interior project at the time. They are of excellent quality with the backs panelled front and back. The fronts are enriched with carved paterae to the corners of each of the larger panels, fluting and moulded details to the top rails. The fluted detailing is also used on the front and side seat rails, as are the paterae on the blocks above each of the three turned front legs. The back legs are square and plain for support and solidity. Each bench with striped upholstery, complementing the fluted details on the bench frames. The timber used throughout is of the highest quality and with an excellent colour and patination.
