A Pair of 18th Century George III English Mahogany Armchairs, circa 1780
A handsome pair of late 18th century English mahogany armchairs of unusually generous proportions, each with a shaped crest rail terminating in carved scrolls above a pierced vertical splat, decorated with carved quatrefoil flowerheads on punched grounds, the shaped open arms above broad upholstered seats, raised on square legs united by stretchers.
Of excellent scale and warm colour, with later floral needlework seat covers, probably circa 1900.
