Late 17th/Early 18th Century Dutch Oyster-Veneered Walnut Chest of Drawers
A highly decorative late 17th/early 18th century walnut chest of drawers, Circa 1700. It is extensively veneered with richly figured and oyster-cut veneers, arranged in striking geometric patterns throughout.
The rectangular top is centred by an elaborate circular and geometric veneered design, the four graduated drawers similarly decorated with contrasting feather-banded panels, and have brass handles and escutcheons. The sides are particularly impressive, each centred by a bold series of concentric circles in contrasting veneers.
Raised on bun feet, the chest has exceptional visual presence, with a wonderful depth of colour and beautifully figured veneers throughout.
