18th Century French Walnut Commode of Good Colour
In the Louis XV provincial manner, this commode retains its original oversized handles and escutcheon sets. The two drawer fronts have fine carved detailing, creating a series of panels around the hardware. It is of serpentine shape with panelled sides. The apron below the drawers has pierced rococo carving, the central shell motif beautifully fretted. Standing on short cabriole legs with shell carved knees. The walnut has attained a good colour and patination.
