19th Century Chinese Hardwood Window Seat/Bench
A 19th Century Chinese Hardwood Window Seat or Bench.
The bench with a panelled top and an overhanging moulded edge, set upon a deep fluted frieze. At each end are two incurving cabriole legs with reverse scroll toes, decorated with fluting, and joined by two corresponding shaped fluted stretchers. This style of bench is highly unusual but relates to other pieces of Chinese furniture that appear to have been produced for export to Europe. It has has a very fine colour.
