A Attractive French Ebonised Bureau Plat or Writing Table with Exceptional Quality Mounts c.1940.
This bureau plat or writing table has an interesting top of inverted breakfront form with the original tooled leather writing surface. The table itself is ebonised. Having three drawers with ormolu escutcheons in the frieze, and stands on finely executed cabriole legs with the fine ormolu leg mounts. The corner blocks have carved fluted detailing.
