19th Century Regency Style Painted Settee

A Documentary Inscribed and Dated 19th Century Regency Style Painted Chair Back Settee.
In the regency style but was made in 1831 according to a painted inscription on the back stating 'Den 23 Juni 1831', suggests that the piece was made in Germany on the 23rd of June 1831. It is likely that this was applied by the original maker.
Decorated throughout with a black painted or japanned ground, accented with painted gold borders and gilt decoration in the form of classical motifs such as anthemion and paterae and survives in excellent condition. The borders to the central panels in the centre of each chair back are especially well executed.
