A Small and Elegant Early 18th Century English Oak Lowboy with Original Metalwork and Excellent Colour.
This lovely table has an overhanging top of two plank construction with a fine moulded edge. The frieze has a single cockbeaded drawer with original patinated engraved brass escutcheon and handles of excellent quality. Standing on slim legs with pad feet, features which suggest a George I origin.
The lowboy has lovely patination throughout and the oak is of good figure. A lovely, charming and high quality example of a provincial British piece from this age of elegance.
