19th Century French Oak Drapers Table
SOLD
A 19th Century French Drapers Table in Oak with Inlaid Metal Ruler.
This fine oak table would originally have been used in a draper's shop, the inlaid metal ruler to one side being used to measure and cut fabrics to the desired length. The table has a full length undertier, presumably originally used for storing bolts of fabric, and this gives the piece twice the storage space when put to use in a modern setting. Strong and practical, this is a very good looking table. The oak has attained a fine mellow colour with the variation in shade.
