19th Century French Walnut Occasional Tripod Table
SOLD
A Fine 19th Century French Walnut and Parquetry Occasional Tripod Table.
This extremely attractive table features a traditional turned stem and three outsplayed feet but what catches the eye is the fine parquetry inlay in the top. The stem and legs are made of walnut and the top combines walnut, rosewood and satinwood to create a remarkable decorative scheme. The top is centred on a satinwood patera, almost a geometric sunflower, which is surrounded in turn by geometric “petals” and then a further geometric outer border.
