A Fine Pair of Italian Walnut Bookcases c.1790-1820, with Architectural Detailing and of Excellent Colour.
The bookcases of fine low waisted proportions and of relatively large scale. They have fine architectural detailing such as the columnar mouldings on the sides of the glazed doors and the stepped plinth pediments. The bookcases have the usual adjustable shelves in the upper section and a long single cupboard compartment behind the panelled doors in the base. Having panelled drawer fronts and cupboard doors. Standing on shaped geometric feet.
A very elegant pair of bookcases, difficult to find these days as most were separated over the years.
