18th Century George II Mahogany Bookcase

An important 18th Century, George II mahogany bookcase of understated classic design. Having a shallow moulded cornice above two full length doors, each having eight glazed rectangular panels with simple moulding. The interior having its original, adjustable shelves. The base of the doors have figured, fielded panels that conceal the unusual feature of four, oak lined drawers with original brass handles and escutcheons. Raised on shaped bracket feet.
For ease of transportation the bookcase was originally made so that it can be dismantled into two parts.
Great original condition and colour. Circa 1750.
