19th Century French Oak Vendange Table
SOLD
19th Century French, provincial oak vendange table with a fabulous inlaid geometric pattern top. A rare table with very unusual star patterns created from various inlaid woods. This table features a beautiful oval top, which is a work of art in itself, resting on two column supports and folding mechanism, standing on simple plinth base.
This type of table would have been used during the French grape harvest (vendange) for pickers' lunches and in the winery for tastings, then stored away flat until next time so as to take up less space when stored in a barn or cellar.
A striking table with wonderful patination!
