Early 19th century regency rosewood writing table attributed to Gillows.
A substantial quality rosewood desk with a top of choice veneer and two disguised draws. The top is supported by two, quality carved, end supports with deep fluting below lotus leaf columns. Having scrolled feet with original casters.
Gillows of Lancaster & London was one of the most prestigious antique furniture makers in England throughout the 18th and 19th Centuries, importing and working with only the finest quality timbers and craftsman.
Pieces of Gillows furniture can now be seen in museums in London and Leeds as well as a collection in the Gillows Museum in Lancaster and Tatton Park, Cheshire.
