17th Century William and Mary Walnut Bureau Cabinet
Rare, small proportioned, 17th Century William and Mary period, highly figured, walnut bureau cabinet, retaining a wonderful colour and patination. The top section has quarter veneered doors using quality veneer. The feather and cross banded doors and fall, open to reveal original drawers, pigeon holes, ink well and secret compartments. All above three feather banded drawers and raised on bun feet. This piece comes in three sections. All the mouldings are cross grained. Metalwork has been replaced.
I have admired this cabinet for all of my antique dealing life. It was with a dealer in his collection for over 50 years and finally he sold it to me as he is retiring. Such a pleasure to finally have this in my possession.
